UCR’s Fall Town Hall: Campus Community in Crisis
By ASUCR External Affairs
About
Join us for UCR’s Fall Town Hall, “Campus Community in Crisis: Navigating Protest and Immigration,” on Thursday, October 29 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM on Zoom. Over the past year, students, campus offices, the Police Accountability Board, and the Chancellor’s Free Speech Work Group have raised important questions about how our campus responds during moments of uncertainty. This Town Hall offers a space to discuss campus response protocols for ICE, protest activities, union actions, and free speech demonstrations, and to hear directly from the campus leaders responsible for them. Panelists include ASUCR External Affairs Vice President Joseph Anastacio, Associate Vice Chancellor & Dean of Students Dr. Christine Mata, Director of Undocumented Student Programs Sonia Garcia Avelar, Chief Campus Counsel Lorena Penaloza, and Chief of Police Jeffrey Talbott, along with representatives from Human Resources and Student Engagement. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome. Registration is required to receive the Zoom link, and you can submit questions for the panel ahead of time through the registration form.
