DESCRIPTION:This class delves into the practice of Latin social dance and m
 ovement improvisation as community-building\npractices and as resources to
  playfully tap into embodied expression. Students will learn the historica
 l background\,\ncultural context and movement foundations of Salsa\, Cumbi
 a\, and Bachata to explore the relationship between\nagency\, identity\, j
 oy and collective action. This class brings together playful embodiment an
 d critical inquiry to provide\nstudents with a rich summer experience. Thi
 s is an introductory course and all levels of experience are welcome!
