💙Join us for UCR is Dancing Auditions!💙 Who are auditions for? Undergraduate Dance majors, minors and students across campus who are interested and able to commit to the two-quarter creative process and performances. Auditioners must be current UCR students. ✨FAQS✨ Do I need to prepare a solo for the audition? 🔸No, all movement material will be taught at the audition. What styles of dance will be presented? 🔸Multiple forms of dancing may be taught, including modern/ contemporary approaches, Latin, Hip Hop, among others. Improvisation/freestyle may also be introduced. What should I wear to the audition? 🔸Wear comfortable clothing in which you can move freely. Floor choreography may be taught so please bring a layer of clothing or pants and long sleeve shirt to avoid floor burn. Bare feet, socks or jazz shoes. No sneakers. How else should I prepare? 🔸Come with a clear sense of your availability for fall rehearsals. Bring a smart device, laptop or tablet so that you can sign in electronically. What if I can’t make the audition, but I am able to participate in rehearsals and the performances? 🔸Please reach out to Professor Joel Mejia Smith for possible accommodations: joel.smith@ucr.edu.
