DNCE 005: LATIN SOCIAL DANCE AND MOVEMENT IMPROVISATION

About

This class delves into the practice of Latin social dance and movement improvisation as community-building practices and as resources to playfully tap into embodied expression. Students will learn the historical background, cultural context and movement foundations of Salsa, Cumbia, and Bachata to explore the relationship between agency, identity, joy and collective action. This class brings together playful embodiment and critical inquiry to provide students with a rich summer experience. This is an introductory course and all levels of experience are welcome!
